I am a writer and former librarian always looking for more creative opportunities.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in English and Writing, a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, and a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of British Columbia.
My writing has appeared in magazines, newspapers, independent press anthologies, literary journals, and aired on CBC Radio (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation). I recently completed three history books for grades 6-8 to be published in 2019 by Full Tilt Press. Topics included: Pivotal moments in transportation history, LGBTQ rights, and an overview of four wars. Another recent source of pride was an invitation from the editor to write the introduction to a collection of essays titled Against Death. This book will be published by Anvil Press in January 2019.
I’ve worked as an assistant librarian, a youth services librarian, an adult services librarian, medical research librarian, substitute teacher, high school creative writing instructor, fiction and nonfiction editor, GIS analyst, mediator, waitress, barista, and pull-tab dealer.
I live in Port Townsend, Washington with my husband and son.
